2009 Zone Meetings Recap
Beginning September 3rd through to October 22nd, Chair Reid Kelner and President & CEO Jim Baker traveled to Steinbach, La Broquerie, Killarney, Boissevain, Brandon, Dauphin, Russell, Teulon, Gimli, and Winnipeg for this year's MHA Zone Meetings.
Presentations at the Zone Meetings in Brandon and Winnipeg (Liquor & Gaming Panel) were made by strategic partners of the MHA, including the administrators of the MHA self-insurance program HED, telecommunications and wireless provider CANOPCO, Video Lotto, and the MLCC.
Of key importance in the meetings were the following topics: Reduction in VLT Commissions, Beer Container Handling Fees, Dining Room Hours, Senate Bill S-226, the impact of the Department of Conservation on tourism, and the value of small properties to the hunt/fish component of tourism.

At the October 22nd Zone Meeting in Winnipeg (Guest Rooms & Tourism Panel), Gerry Delorme, Director of Disaster Management at Manitoba Health provided a great presentation regarding H1N1 Influenza Preparedness to a full room of MHA Members.
